History

For more than 50 years, the Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, AAMP, has been the voice and advocate for the multi-family industry in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

As many builder members of the Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (BAMP) became increasingly involved in the construction, ownership and management of multi-family communities, establishing an association with other apartment owners and investors was a logical partnership to ensure that the concerns of the multi-family housing industry were being addressed and its interests defended. Concerns about a revision of Pennsylvania's Landlord Tenant Act and the fear of government-imposed rent control measures led these industry leaders to establish a sister organization of BAMP in 1974. Today, AAMP has grown to over 200 companies - apartment builders, developers, owners, managers, investors, financial institutions, suppliers, subcontractors, and utilities - all working within the multi-family housing industry.
